As time goes by the yearly Memorial Day cabin fever hits. So like always we start packing our bags, getting food ready, finding fishing pools and hoping that we can survive in isolation with kids for more than 3days. As always it seems like the weather always turns worse for us as soon as the holiday weekend gets closer and boy did it change for us this year. Making it the most "Memeriable Merorial Day" ever.
We got to bed failry early on Wed. night in the hopes to get a "EARLY" start. This didn't happen as it rained all night and contiunued into the moring, to the point that main street in Tooele was preaty full with water, so a late start to a late winter storm weekend. Well we finaly got to the cabin at ohhh say 1:00 ish. (Aaron made it up there at the same time and left after we did, go figure, it must of been the old lady in the bathroom taking so long, when we stoped to go potty)
Well we made it midst the rain. We headed up to Electric lake with all the kids. To find out we couldn't even fish the lake because of the amount of snow. So off to the higher lakes we go. Mammoth look frozen as we came around the corner and boy was it frozen, Years past we could fish small openings or even the whole lake was tawed. NOT this year. So the Men trecked down to the water to find a little opening with the Chiltlens of course. All geared up in snow boot and gloves and hats. To find out that luck was on our side. Alexis like always catches a big fat hog of a fish on her famous "Barbie Poll". Got love those Tiger Trout. It was so funny to see all them standing in the snow fishing. We also had the pleasure of fishing on Electic and Cleveland where more fish were caught. The day before we left was really snowy, Aaron has a picture of us standing in the MUD,SNOW by a fire, but still fishing. Devin and the Kids and I have come to love our Memorial Tradition, every year something new happens, whether that is snow, awesome fishing, family and friends coming up. What a wonderful way to spend our free time with family we love and in some sense a "Art" form. I will always remember the memories we make on each trip and the most precious people that join along.
